Mass Mail Reports

ShoutCMS provides statistics and reports for the Mass Emails that you have sent. Reports can be generated for a specific message or for all messages sent over the past 30 days.

Note

The data used for these reports will change over time, as messages are rejected, accepted or opened by their recipients. Depending on the size of your mailing list, you may have to wait several hours or days before the report is final.

What's in this article
  • Global Reports
  • Message-Level Reports

Global Reports

The global reports provide statistics for all Mass Emails sent in the past 30 days. To access the reports from the Administration Console, hover your mouse over the top navigation icon titled "Mass Email", then click "Reports":

  1. Delivered: The number of messages where the mail server of the recipient acknowledged receipt of the message.
  2. Bounced: The number of messages that were rejected (temporarily or permanently) by the mail server of the recipient.
  3. Unknown: The number of messages that were neither accepted or rejected by the mail server of the recipient.
  4. Unique Opens: The unique number of recipients that displayed a message (whether fully opened or within the preview pane) at least once.
  5. Unique Clicks: Number of unique messages which had one or more links clicked one or more times.
  6. Delivery Rate: The percentage of messages that were not rejected by the mail server of the recipient.
  7. Emails Sent: The total number of emails sent, regardless of whether they were rejected or accepted, for the previous week, month, and all time.

Message-Level Reports

The message-level reports provide statistics for a specific Mass Email. To access the reports from the Administration Console, click the top navigation icon titled "Mass Email", then click "Reports" next to the appropriate message:

  7. Export Data: Export a CSV file that contains the sending result by email address (the records shown in section #8).
  8. Source Data: A list of each email address that was sent to and the result (so far) of sending). The data is grouped as follows:
    1. Hard Bounces: Permanently rejected by the recipient's mail server (eg. invalid address). These addresses should not be included in future mailings.
    2. Soft Bounces: Temporarily rejected by the recipient's mail server (eg. mailbox full, spam filter). These bounces are temporary failures and can be retried in future mailings.
    3. Opens and Clicks: Messages that were viewed by the recipient.
