Products

Products represent purchasable items in your store. They can be simple, with just an image and text; or complex, with image galleries, configurable options and related/alternate Products. Sales & Coupons can also be applied to reduce the price of a Product for a period of time or to a specific Group of Contacts.

Once you have created a Product, or imported your Products from a spreadsheet or XML file, they will be placed into Category Groups which allow them to be easily sorted and searched using Tags. Because Products are not displayed in the main Navigation Menu, they are normally accessed through a Page with a Category Group, or as Featured Content.

Before creating your first Product, ensure that you are familiar with Creating a Page and working with Category Groups, as those concepts will apply when working with Products.

Tip

If you have a large number of Products to create, you may find it easier to use the Product Import feature. 

Creating a Basic Product

1. In the Administration Console, click on the top navigation icon titled "Website", then click "Add Product".
2. Enter the title of the Product.
3. Click "Select Placement" and choose where the Product should be located. Multiple Category Groups can be selected.
4. Enter a retail price for the Product. This is the price that customers will pay before any Sales & Coupons are applied.
5. Type a short summary for the Product. This is the text that will be displayed whenever it is displayed or Featured somewhere else on your site.
6. Upload at least one image to the Gallery and set it as the Featured Image. This will be displayed next to the short summary and in the content area of the Product when it is viewed.
7. Add Product information using the WYSIWYG Editor.
8. Click "Save" to finish creating the Product.
